Can I substitute milk for buttermilk?

-I am trying to make a cookie dough recipe, but I don't have any regular milk, only buttermilk. If the recipe goes like this:



2 C all-purpose flour

1/2 t salt

3/4 C unsalted butter, melted

1 C packed brown sugar

1/2 C white sugar

1 T vanilla extract

4 T milk



Can I substitute the milk with buttermilk?



(I'm not exactly a Top Chef ^^;)Yea. Maybe do 3T buttermilk and 1T water, just because buttermilk is a lot thicker.Yes, no problem. The buttermilk will add a little tartness, which should go well in this recipe. I'm wondering where your leavening is, though...no baking powder or baking soda, and no eggs? Are you sure you're not missing something?
