Vodka shots questions?
-i'm a female about 5ft5 and 9.2 stone, if i have 3 shots of vodka about 10 minutes apart, will i feel buzzed? how many would i need to be drunk? without being sick. i have had nothing to eat recentlyYou'll probably feel something. It affects different people differently. I'd say you'd be pretty drunk within 5. But you could be very drunk after 3. It depends on the person.
You will be drunk if you have 3 shots of vodka in an hour.
Yea you will be buzzed if you drink a shot at 10 minute intervals. Drink 5 shots one after another and you'll be drunk.
Just down the entire bottle

When is it good to take casein protein?
-Ok I know it's good to take before bed because it retains muscle during your sleep which is the period that breaks down the most muscle. But I was thinking also wouldn't it be good to take it before a workout since it's slow releasing which will be providing protein to your body throughout your workout and after. Or am I totally wrong? This protein is a bit confusing for me so if anyone can explain it to me I would gladly appreciate it. I just want to get cut and I've definitely improved my diet. Some people prefer to take whey or casein proteins before a workout, but to be honest it's entirely up to you.
I tend to take mine after working out (especially after weight training sessions) making use of the '30min window of opportunity' when my muscles are most receptive to protein nourishment.
It does depend on when you work out as well to a certain extent. If you work out in the morning your body will turn towards your fat reserves for energy, because you haven't consumed anything for the past 7-8hrs while sleeping. However if you take casein (or any protein for that matter) before a workout, your body will attempt to convert that protein into energy. If you want to lose weight by dropping your body fat percentage, this is not the way to go because you want your body to use your fat reserves instead.
This whole area whereby some people believe the body will convert protein into energy is negligible, because protein is very difficult for our bodies to convert into fuel; or more specifically glycogen - something better suited to carbohydrates. Hence it's up to you whether you take protein before or after a workout.
Just take casein or micellar casein just before bed. It can take casein between 5-7 hours to be fully digested depending on the brand and quality of the protein.NEVER. Non-dairy protein is FAR superior. TRy soy or almond milk.

Noob to vegetarianism?
-i'm not prepared to go full blown vegetarian, but i will decrease my meat intake to only 2-3 times a week. i'm not a big meat eater anyways. i'll have fish sometimes, mostly i have chicken though. beef i have rarely. i take multivitamins so the lack of B12 won't be an issue. i did have a question about energy though. i exercise about 2 hours a day. will only eating fruits and veggies make me dizzy the first few times or will it be enough to get through a workout? also what contains protein besides meat and nuts?Eat some peanut butter. sunflower seeds. almonds are good too for protein.
but you will be fine just eating fruit and veggies for your work out..but you can eat pasta and rice and stuff too not just veggiesI work out pretty hard and have never had a problem with dizziness on my vegan diet, as long as I eat enough calories. Everything you eat contains protein (where do you think the cows get it from? They don't eat meat and nuts, unless silly humans are feeding them the wrong stuff), and most vegetables have more protein than you even need. Its important to get lots of dark leafy greens - they have tons of protein and vitamins and minerals that we need. I highly recommend green smoothies (rotating you dark leafies is important). Beans and whole grains are also great sources of protein.

Can I substitute milk for buttermilk?
-I am trying to make a cookie dough recipe, but I don't have any regular milk, only buttermilk. If the recipe goes like this:
2 C all-purpose flour
1/2 t salt
3/4 C unsalted butter, melted
1 C packed brown sugar
1/2 C white sugar
1 T vanilla extract
4 T milk
Can I substitute the milk with buttermilk?
(I'm not exactly a Top Chef ^^;)Yea. Maybe do 3T buttermilk and 1T water, just because buttermilk is a lot thicker.Yes, no problem. The buttermilk will add a little tartness, which should go well in this recipe. I'm wondering where your leavening is, though...no baking powder or baking soda, and no eggs? Are you sure you're not missing something?

Common Thai Ingredients?
-My mom really likes Thai food and loves to use ingredients from her own garden. But I don't know A thing about Thai food...
What are some common fruits, veggies or even spices that are easy to grow?
How common you ask?
Common enough for shoprite to have the seeds. And that would be in a Thai cook book.
Thank you!!Cilantro/coriander, mint, basil, thai chili peppers, green onions/spring onions, Japanese/Asian eggplant. I doubt Shoprite would have anything more exotic than that, and unless you lived in a tropical climate I doubt you would be able to grow things like ginger or galangal, lemongrass, or keffir lime, which are other Thai staples.
durian, jack fruit, coconut milk, peanut sauce, rice "glass" noodles, nuc nam, fish, octopus, squid, schrachi, etc...
Would you like a glass of water

Raw coconut cut to shape for the teeth,
Overlapping pineapple rings for the face part,
Kiwi slices for the eyes,
Lots and lots of shredded mango for the mane.

What are some easy cupcake ideas?
-I have some boxes of cake mix (1 strawberry, 2 funfetti) and was wondering if I could twist up the recipe by adding something to them to make them different? Any ideas? Thanks :)Well, one idea would be to combine the cake boxes, and make a whole new flavor. However, I think it would be a lot more fun to add your favorite flavoring to the cake mix and top it off with fun-colored icings. Especially like adding baleenor green frosting to the funfetti cupcakes. Then with your assortment of fun, new cupcakes, you could throw a cupcake party! Or just enjoy a taste of you wonderful creations on your own. Good luck, and happy "cup caking!

Does this sound like enough to eat for one day?
-I've had a bowl of cereal, 5 saltine crackers & half a bowl of ramon noodlesthats not enough at all the cereal is probably 200-250 calories, about 70 calories, and a half bowl of ramen is about 80 calories. you only had 400-500 calories a day, are u going anorexic , i was one and it was not fun at all, had to get my blood drawn, had to go to the doctors everyweek, had to eat non-stop, and i got very weak , lost all my muscle, and looked very pale. you should be having 6-13 carbs,5 servings of fruit, 5 servings of vegetables, 2-3 servings of protein, 2-3 servings of dairy, and atleast 1-2 servings of fats. Heres a good eating plan
Breakfast

lunch
snack
dinner
Option #1
Breakfast: Bowl of Cereal with some orange juice
Snack: Cup of Fruit/Apple/Banana/etc.
Lunch: Turkey or Chicken Sandwich and small salad with a glass of milk or water
Snack: Fruit again/Almonds (or any kind of nut)/Small handful of potato chips even! etc.
Dinner: Bowl of Ramon Noodles
Be sure to do some exercises!!
If you deprive yourself of calories your body will go into emergency mode and shut down and stop burning calories. Thus allowing you to gain weight or can hurt your heart.
Usually instead of using two pieces of bread for a turkey sandwich I use a tortilla shell and put my turkey (or chicken), spinach leaves, small spread of mayo, 1/4 cup of cheese and wrap it up like a borrito.
Option #2:
BREAKFAST
1/2 cup cantaloupe
1 slice whole wheat toast
2 tsp. almond butter
1 cup coffee nonfat yogurt
LUNCH
1 cup minestrone soup
1 oz. lowfat mozzarella cheese
2 pieces tomato slices
2 slices whole wheat bread
1 tsp. prepared mustard
SNACK
1 oz. peanuts
DINNER
4 oz. broiled fish (salmon, bass, etc)
1 sweet potato
5 mushrooms
1/2 cup asparagus
1 cup tossed mixed greens
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 cup strawberries
SNACK
2 whole grain crackers
2 tsp. peanut butter
1/2 cup skim milk
No, it sounds like a girl trying to starve herself to be too thin.
Here is a good example of a healthy diet for one day:
Breakfast: 1/2 cup of fresh cut cantaloupe
one slice of whole grain toast with light butter
2 egg whites mixed with one whole egg, a cup of spinach leaves, green onion sauteed to-
gether.
Glass of Whole cranberry juice. Low sugar
Lunch: Fresh turkey sandwich wrapped in Romain lettuce with tomato, lowfat Jack cheese
Glass of water and carrots.
Dinner: Chicken breast grilled with lemon and fresh salsa, Large green salad, small baked potato
use lemon juice for your salad dressing and add your baked potato to salad. Pepper to
taste. Water to drink Water WATER WATER...
For a snack have some fresh fruit to grab through out the day with lots of water.
It's a lot of carbohydrates and not much else... what's your concern?
Should try to eat a more balanced diet... veggies/fruits are very important, to a lesser extent, meats and milk products.
How much food you need to eat in a day depends on a lot of things, what sex you are (male or female), how much activity you get, and other factors (are you pregnant or nursing? Are you sick)
Don't deprive yourself, add the essential foods you need, like fruits, vegetables, and grains. This isn't nearly enough for a single day. Three meals a day and plenty of exercise.
Half the world eats less than that a week.
its ok to eat like that evey once and a while but you should eat three meals a day

What types of food would you eat after oral surgery?
-I have to have my pre molars taken out what are a few different good mushy foods I could eat ?Well when i had my lower impacted wisdom teeth removed in hospital i was in alot of pain, And even though i assumed mash would be ok i could not even bear anything apart from shakes, so i made sure i got all my nutrients by geting the meal replacement drinks which are made by slimfast and come in chocolate, strawberry, chocolate orange and many more they are 230 calories each so youll get your energy, After a 4 days i started having rice (overcook it so its fluffy and not grainy or it mite get stuck in the holes where they are healing, i also had jelly nice and cold and went down easily. When you are in pain your appetite will suppress anyway so you wont miss out on chips and pizza, just be sure that on the first day if your having soup avoid soup with bits as unless you swallow it hole they can be a pain.

How to become a Butcher?
-I was looking into becoming a butcher and from what I understand it's actually a college degree / certificate. I haven't found to much information on it but I want to know if there is a State accredited school that offers classes.are you talking butcher or meat cutter ? butcher is like culinary school you have to attend and than will be employed at restaraunts where as a meat cutter you can apply at any super market and ask to become an apprentice for a year and than as you learn you will be promoted to a journeyman cutter.
you should be able to find culinary schools on line to attend, but if looking for meat cutter than go to chain stores, better pay and benefits.

Could I make hard candy suckers using an ice cube tray as the mold?
-Or would the hot liquid melt the tray?! help what should I do? It HAS to be hard candy.I would maybe keep the empty trays in the freezer and when the liquid is ready pour them in the cold trays, I would try it, but you might get a better answer then mine. Don't ever cook cookie dough in a small Tupperware bowl in the microwave, it starts a fire.. oh and don't ever touch a glass dish with a wet rag if its coming outta a hot oven, it will pop and shatter everywhere.. hehe.. good luck!

Any fun ways to eat pocky?
-Im going to have a naruto cosplay/sleepover with my friends and I'm going to let them try pocky. Should we do the pocky game? We are all straight girls that r 11 but I think I wont like it but I never tried it b4
And I don't think they would like it so yeah I shouldnt play that
Any other ways to eat pocky?-Pocky Battle ~ Like .. sword fighting ? XD
-JUST EAT IT xD.
-Everyone should like Pocky, just sayin, basically all it is, is like cookie covered in chocolate (or strawberry), so if you don't like it, SHAME ON YOU.
-You could put different pocky and other snacks (like cookies) in a bowl, and blindfold them and have them eat it, so they don't really know what they're eating. (:
HOPE THIS HELPED, and that were not too late :Pwell, really, i think pocky is fun to eat just as is :D ((in fact, i'm eating some strawberry-coated pocky right now!))

How do I make uniform sized brownie cupcakes?
-I have found that using cupcake tins for brownies is perfect, as you get chewy edges all the way around each brownie. However pouring the mix is soooo messy and getting the same amount in each mold is very tricky. Some people recommend scoops or measuring cups, but the mix is too thick to pour from cups and too thin for scoops. Also, if you use a pastry bag, how do you stop the flow between each one so it doesn't drip everywhere?Well I have seen Paula Dean and Giada di Laurentiis using little one or two ounce ice cream scoopers to deliver an exact measured amount.
I'm sure these are available at restaurant supply houses or at gourmet shops.
We used to use them to measure guacamole at a restaurant I once worked at.

Vegans, would you eat eggs again if..?
-You bought them free-range from a local farm and knew the animals lived happy lives?Even if your local farm is a free range one, if they're in the business of producing eggs then they have to get their chickens from somewhere. The hatchery that supplies their laying birds hatches vast numbers of chicks, about half of which are male. These small male chicks hatch and almost instantly go to a grinder to make vile things like chicken nuggets (not sure about this but I think chicken nuggets are just about the worst "food" ever invented and I'll take any opportunity to slander them!), pet food, fertilisers.
I have a friend around the corner who has chickens in her garden, and she gives (or swaps for some of my home grown vegies/fruit) me eggs occasionally. Her chickens have been rescued mainly from battery farms, and some are also other people's unwanted pets. Her chickens' eggs don't really come with the guilt and gore that mass produced eggs do. I don't buy any other eggs because I can't be sure of their background.Free-range is a clever marketing gimmick, it only means the chickens aren't confined to cages, which means thousands of them could be crawling all over each other on a filthy floor. I don't buy milk or dairy products, and I only eat eggs from my own 9 chickens because I know without a shadow of a doubt that they are happy, healthy and loved and well taken care of. That is the only reason I'm not vegan.
I've actually had to think about this quite often, because my next door neighbors actually raise chickens and I KNOW they treat them well, however my answer still remains the same: No.
My mom thinks I'm crazy, but I would feel guilty imprisoning said animal at all, even if they are raised well. And to actually eat the eggs that came from them? I just couldn't do it. I wouldn't judge if I knew someone who did this, but for me, I just wouldn't be able to feel good about it.
I don't eat them because I don't want to eat them. I mean what is the big deal with this being a vegan doesn't mean you sit out in the woods eating nuts and berries and sleeping with rabbits. Hell, 1/3 of the stuff in a given grocery store is vegan already.
Think about this:
Free range cows live "free" lives until they are killed.
The "other" cows live horrible lives in putrid conditions until they are killed.
Both cows end up being brutally slaughtered the exact same way.
If you were to ask me which of the following two instances I thought were better:
1)Pet an animal and then gut it alive.
2)Torture an animal and then gut it alive.
I would say NEITHER.
Actually free range doesn't mean they roam freely, it just means they get some access to outside. They are also treated like property just as in factory farms. There are no regulations on how they are to be treated. Cage free also is just a bunch of chickens crammed into a pen.
Even if they lived happy lives, I wouldn't, humans are not meant to eat eggs. We're frugivores.
No, because animal protein and cholesterol, from all sources including eggs, has been shown in research studies to increase risk of several different types of cancer and heart disease, among other illnesses. One egg has more cholesterol than what is recommended daily allowance (thats for one day, and in addition to the fact that the amount of dietary cholesterol we actually need is a big fat 0).
Personally, I am not interested in consuming anything that may compromise my health. Nothing tastes that good. I prefer to be cancer and heart-disease free.
Veganism is a philosophy in opposition to commodification of animals.
"Free range" is a welfarist term used by people to make themselves feel better about using sentient creatures as things/machines.
And no- eggs are unnecessary and laden with cholesterol.
No I wouldn't, although I think it's a much more humane option than factory farms. My personal belief is that we shouldn't use animals AT ALL for anything; they are not ours. But then again I have pets. So I guess i'm a hypocrite. Ahh well.
Free-range eggs are often fertile, so this vegetarian would definitely not eat them. Fertile eggs have the potential to hatch so you are killing that little chicken.
Also the thought of eating fried after-birth with embryo parts really leaves me cold.
Eww! No! I wouldn't eat another females menstrual products if you paid me!
Oh bless, you really do believe the whole free-range myth don't you
No, I wouldn't. I didn't really like eggs even before I became vegan.
I'm not vegan, but the only eggs I eat are from Egglad's Best. I am conscientious about what I eat.
I don't eat eggs cuz its gross
would you eat a dogs placenta? its pretty much the same thing. oh wait its not the egg is the actual child
No, it is not necessary to eggs anyone's eggs.
No, I find them gross.
Not after I watched a close up of a hen laying one on youtube.
No. They smell and are gross.
When something with egg ends up in my mouth, it's slimy and nasty.

How much does a CANDY cost in USA?
-One additional question,
What can you buy for $1.It depends on what kind of candy you are talking about. The price varies. $1.00 won't get you much. Most candy bars and packs of gum cost over a $1.00 unless it's on sale. Expect to pay over $20.00 and up for a box of really good chocolate.depends on what candy you're talking about. for a dollar you can get pretty much ONE pack twix, reese's, milky way, snickers, gum, tic tacs, etc..
usually a candy bar is around 70 cents
but if you're talking about bagged candy that's a lot more expensive.
Due to tax increase all candy will be $200 per pound.
It`s our government's way on cutting down on obesity and trying to better our country financially.
...what kind of candy? Gumball machines can be as cheap as $0.25 but Godiva chocolate is more like $25.00
It depends what state you buy it at
The same cost that you Indians who are ashamed to show themselves sell themselves for

In the UK how old do you have to be to buy alcohol?
-I'm talking about anywhere, not just in pubs but in shops too. I think it's 18 but a girl told me it's 21.Eighteen is the legal limit for purchasing alcohol in the UK. Five is the minimum age for drinking it in private. some establishments have a 21 limit but that is their commercial policy, not the law of the land.
To purchase alcohol, you must be 18 years or older, both in a shop and at a pub or bar. In an establishment which serves food, someone 18 or older may purchase an unfortified alcoholic drink (ie wine, beer, cider, perry) for someone between 16 and 18 provided it is ordered with a meal. You may consume alcohol at home from the age of 5.
18
n most place now the age is 18. but in some well-known stores, their limit is 21 or even 25
no. just no.
you can be any age

Whats so special about Blue label?
-My uncle said it is the ferrarri of alchohol or something like that and I saw it on Curb Your Enthusiasm so I'm just curiousIt's the highest quality of blended scotch you can buy. It's hand made with a blend of the best Scotch batches dating back to the early 19th century to be the smoothest, tastiest scotch you can drink.
I'm not afficionado, but I've had Black, Green and Blue label - and you can tell that each is better than the next.
Blue Label costs around $225 a bottle.
Quality of Johnnie Walker from lowest to highest:
Red Label
Black Label
Double Black Label
Green Label
Gold Label
Blue LabelMore aging is done to the Scotch that goes in to it, and they select only VERY good scotch to go in, regardless of the age. Their master blenders know what they are going for and make it happen. Is it worth it? Probably not so much, but it would be hard for me to justify that much no matter how good it was!
It's also special in part because it does have the position at the top of the wide range of scotch that they make. Don't go in thinking that it will be a slightly better Red or Black label, there is a noticable difference!
I haven't tried blue label but if it tastes anything like red label then I would pass. I don't like johnnie walker. I prefer jack Daniels old no 7
It's probably just a thing to get people to buy more beer, don't fall for it.
Its just extra yummy and smooth.

Recipes for healthy bars?
-I love trail mix bars, but ones that look very raw, only I find them a bit too sweet and would prefer to make my own. Anyone know any god recipes? I like the bars by the company KIND they are vegan gluten free and delicious but are also a bit pricey and would prefer to make my own at home so I know exactly what is in itThe ones I make are NOT gluten free! and are only as sweet as I wish them to be.

Whats the best way to make satay chicken skewers ?
-Im doing a dinner party cooking Thai curry for main course got dessert sorted, now just need some starter ideas im going with a Chinese/Thai theme. I was thinking chicken satay if you could give me some ideas to the recipes you use most tastiest .
Does this sound like enough to eat for one day?
-I've had a bowl of cereal, 5 saltine crackers & half a bowl of ramon noodlesWhat you're describing is like a light breakfast and light lunch with no dinner. It resembles a crash diet. And your light breakfast and lunch aren't very nutritious, either. There's close to no protein in your diet and no healthy fats. Crackers and noodles are just sugar with an insignificant amount of protein. Your breakfast cereal is probably close to the same, with just a small amount of multivitamin mix added. Where the are the fruit and vegetables? Sources of protein? Healthy fats?
You must be pretty tired, as you do not have very much protein in your diet. You are not eating even 1000 calories a day.
Cearl and fruit for breakfast, fruit for a mid morning snack, a salad, light sandwich protein bar for lunch and a nice dinner with veggies and potato, (chicken, steak, salmon or even canned salmon or tuna)
No. If you're full it's probably just for now. A bowl of cereal, 5 crackers, and a half of a bowl of ramon noodles is not enough to eat for one day. Wait until you get hungry again, I know you will.
A light breakfast and a light lunch. You should be having dinner now though, quite a big dinner with lots of vegetables and healthy fats since you haven't ate much through out the day:)
thats more than i eat on schools days, but I'm weird and people are always yelling at me to eat more haha. Try adding some protein or fruit. =)
No. It's also not healthy.
I seriously hope you're kidding.
So all you ate was junk food with no nutrition? You'll die by the time you're 30 on that diet.
No. try an apple and a piece of toast or handful of almonds too. and you should be fine
you need to add some Pop Tarts so that you have all bases covered.
If you are a hampster it would be fine....

Is the colour of the chicken i bought from a local halal butchers right/safe to eat?
-I bought some frozen chicken from the halal shop a couple of week ago and stored it in the freezer but some part of the chicken seems to be white in colour, this colour remains the same whilst i was defrosting the chickens. Some part of the chicken looks fresh but the other part has this white colour. like some stored fast but the thing is, its on the skin. Please help, not sure if i should cook it or not....It sounds like it might be freezer burn, from either improper packaging or has been frozen for too long. Next time buy fresh and freeze it yourselfBrother/Sister. Questioning excessively is not from the Sunnah. Look in Sahih Al Bukhari there is a narration when Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) brought some meat to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and did not know whether they said "bismillah" upon slaughtering or not to which the Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "Say bismillah and eat".
So my advice to you is that if you tried your best to buy halal; say "bismillah" and eat.
Halal food is good for everyone, but non-halal food is not acceptable for muslims. In fact, Halal food is considered quite clean. Although I have heard of beef being processed in some unkind ways. I can't be sure. As for you, halal chicken is still chicken. I doubt anyone will sell rotten chooks.
I wouldn't take a chance and eat it. The colour should all be the same in uniformity. It probably is freezer burn, or it is off. I'd take it back to the shop, if you can, or toss it in the bin.
The white part is just fat. There's nothing wrong with your chicken. If you don't like that part, just cut it off after you cook it. (:
I am not sure about chicken that is white but I would not eat chicken that was florescent orange.

What are the healthiest beans to eat and what recipes do you like best?
-to make them taste good. Thanks for any ideas/recipes.
Preferably some with salsa in them? You can get all of the amino acids you need for your body to produce all of the protein you need from only eating brown rice and the following beans:
Lima, Kidney, Navy, and lentils
Lintels. This is a little flat bean that cooks in about 20 mins. Add onions, chicken base and maybe some carrots. After cooking add your salsa.

http://www.fourgreensteps.com/community/blogs/ask-a-vegan/meatless-monday-the-best-vegan-cheesecake-recipesI'm sorry to say, you can't bake a cake without eggs. They're not just an ingredient for flavor - in baking, the proteins in eggs are used to bind together the ingredients and not using them would greatly affect not only the flavor, but also the texture, rise and moistness of the cake.
If you don't have eggs, then you shouldn't bake a cake - what you'll end up with will not be good.
Sorry. Baking is chemistry. You need all the parts - and the correct parts - or it just doesn't work. Go to the store and pick up the eggs or have someone else grab them on the way home.
Im afraid you cant make a cake without eggs,
why not make something else like apple crumble? or settle for ice cream sundaes :)
Bananas work well, eggs are basically just a binder.
I've heard of people using half of a banana (mashed) for each egg in the recipe. Good luck!
applesauce i know it weird but i works.

How can an 18 year old girl learn how to cook for herself in a cheap manner?
-I'm 18 and my parents are away a lot so theres no one to cook. I want to eat healthier foods but I don't know how to cook or what to cook. I just no nothing about cooking and I eat out all the time and it's just waste of money. Can someone please give me tips on how to cook for myself. What to cook and how not to spend a fortune on it. Please I really am so sick of eating out and eating unhealthy, processed foodsWell, the best way is to read a beginner's cookbook. Jean Pare makes excellent cookbooks for cooks at any level, and also has some recipes online. Or just read recipes online if you don't want to buy one. Get a grip on the basic concepts, like how to tell when your food is done (generally, vegetables should be tender-crisp, starchy vegetables [like potatoes] tender, meats should have the correct internal temperature [and/or juices run clear when pierced], that kind of thing), what different techniques do for your foods (like, cooking low and slow to make tough food more tender, browning foods to get more flavour, chopping to uniform sizes to ensure uniform cooking time, etc.), and how different flavours interact (what spices go well with which foods, which foods pair well, what drinks taste right with those foods -a lot of that can be trial and error and personal taste).
As for what to cook/buy -well, what do you like? If you want to eat healthier, one of the best pieces of advice I can give is to stick to the 'outer' aisles in the store -most stores, the outer aisles are the more 'whole' foods, your vegetables, fruit, grains, meats, and dairy, and the aisles closer to the center are much more processed. Since the people who make those foods want to do it as cheaply as possible, but still have the foods be flavourful so you'll buy them, they tend to fill them with fat and salt, since that's an easy, cheap way to add flavour. However it's much healthier to add flavour with herbs and spices and better cooking methods -like braising in wine adds incredible rich flavour and generally makes for lovely texture as well. Also, buying foods less processed generally makes it far less expensive, when you consider the unit price.
Here are a few sites with recipe databases -the first is specifically for weight loss/health foods and includes full nutritional info per serving with each recipe

Hi, this summer i would like to cook something but i don't know what to cook but i usually like baking dessert?
-help me i dont know what to makeWell somehting i like when it's summer is just a simple fruit salad but you don't have to cook tha just toss some fruit in a bowl and BAM!
But somehitng, that is also nice is a bread and fruit pudding, all you need is a pudding bowl. Line it with white bread and then will with fruit (The bowl should be upside down) Cover the bottom (but it will be the top.. if you get me [the whole in the bowl] ) With more white bread. Put in the fridge to chill. BAM! ;)
You could maybe bake your own marang i can't spell it ;) and then fill it with fruit and cream :D
Or you could just bake buns.
If you don't want dessert then you could try a simple chicken recipe. I like chicken breast with basil and tomato, grilled, or chicken breast you cut the chicken (like you cut a bread bun) then stuff it with matzerella cheese, then grill it with pama ham on top and some italia herbs :)
You could also try maranating a chicken breat in lemon juice and taragon or thyme and then fry it, cook the marantion sauce in another pan and just add cream pour the sauce on the chicken. BAM! ;)
During summers it's ideal to eat light foods, I know a British dessert named Summer Pudding, it's a quite light and simple dessert, and is appropriate for summer, hence the name. It doesn't require any baking, but still, I'm sure you'll appreciate the result.
You will only need 8-10 slices of crustless white bread and berries, any variety of berries will do, but you need raspberries and you need more raspberries than the other berries you use, you will also need a little bit of sugar.
1)To begin with put the berries in a pot and add in the sugar, cook it till the the berries give up a little bit of juice and boils, then allow to simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes, so quite a bit of juice is given out but the fruit remains mostly intact, switch of the heat and allow to cool.
2) Moving onto the bread, cut all of it into thin strips, about an inch across.
3) Now using the strips, line a deep bowl with the strips pressing hard and ensuring there are no gaps, make sure you cover the bottom of the bowl too. Pour the berry-juice mixture in the bowl and line the top with additional bread strips.
4) Place the bowl onto a big plate, and put a smaller plate on top of the bowl and put a heavy weight on it.
5) Now place the entire thing in the refrigerator overnight.
6) You should find that the bread is soaked in juice, using a pallet knife, run across the edge of the dish and tip it onto a serving dish and you're done! Serve with custard or cream

One thing I just got into is baking homemade pies from scratch and now I can dish out a pie within an hour I make the crust by hand and you can put anything in it!

Is in and out burger any good?
-never had it but i heard it was amazing..Perhaps their official site will persuade you?
http://www.in-n-out.com/I've never heard of it before, but I guess it would depend on what they mean by 'In and Out.' Do they mean like 'In and Out' as in fast service or do they mean 'In and Out' as in once you eat it, it's in one end and out the other fast. O.o
its the BEST. i would go there everyday if we had one near our city. you should definitely go, and its really cheap too! it's like under $5 for drink and burger and fries together. cheap, but very good. they handmade the bread from scratch and the food is really fresh. GO GO GO!
I ate there a few years back when I was in Vegas. Its was good. But we have a little family owned place in my home town population 3,300 and its just as good.
I believe all of them are located in the west coast area.
The only good thing about them is they make their fries from whole potatoes and don't cook anything else in the french fry oil.
We desperately need In and Out east of the Mississippi.
Amazing.
and none in michigan:(
I've had burgers in my life, but I've never heard of an in and out burger.
why are you in the vegetarian category if you eat cow corpses?
ITS SOOO TASTY
Ya :)

There is a recipe that requires 2 eggs, what if I just use 1 egg?
-I have a recipe for cinnamon bread that requires 2 eggs but I only have 1 egg left. What will happen if I only bake it with 1 egg?Lots of things could go wrong. Get that 2nd egg.

Baking is a science and eggs are one of the most important components in baking. Without eggs your cookies, breads, cakes and confections may not turn out as well as you would hope. They may not rise, they may be dry, they may have a coarser crumb, they may look pale and sickly, they may have little taste, they may feel weird on the tongue, they may not smell right.
I wish I had an egg for you. You really need it, especially for your breadIt'll actually be OK even though measurements in baking have to be exact. Traditional breads use only flour, water and yeast, and it's not only until modern times that people have begun to spice up plain bread by using eggs, milk, etc. If anything, it'll be less velvety and rich, but it'll still turn out.
The reason the eggs probably go in the pastry is either to make them rise and/or to keep them from falling apart. So if your cinnamon bread does not cook/rise properly and falls apart when you pick it up, well, you'll know why.
But this is just speculation on my behalf.
One egg equals a quarter cup, liquid.
I'd try substituting a 1/4 c. of yogurt or sour cream for the egg. You want to keep the liquids in balance, but omitting an egg probably won't hurt it.
You have to be very precise, especially when baking. It won't turn out right. Either get another egg or half the whole recipe if that's possible.
IF you are using a bread machine, you must be exact.
IT WILL EXPLODE

What are some vegan breakfast cereals that are high in vitamin B12?
-If anyone can provide a list of healthy vegan cereals that are high in B12, that'd be great!
More specifically, I'm looking for cereals that are low in sugar (no more than 5 grams/serving), high in fiber, high in protein, low in saturated fat, and low in sodium.Acme brand Bran Flakes has 100% of your iron for the day.
I know it doesn't sound too good, but it's acually sooooooo good with blueberries or sliced banana and almond milk.
Total
any type of bran cereal.
but i take a vegan b 12 vitamin. I got it at wal-mart
Kellogg's All Bran

How long can corn sit out?
-i made corn last night and acidently left it in the pot. is it still good?
How do you make deviled eggs?
-My friends and i are having a party and we wanted to make deviled eggs because we were making a cake when we cracked an egg open and it was hard boiledi am the deviled egg queen!! i make them all the time
first you start out by making hardboiled eggs (cook in boiling water for 10 min)
then imidiatley place them in a cold ice water bath in a seperate bowl to stop the cooking process. peel the eggs and cut vertically the expose the yolk scoop out the yolk into a seperate bowl. WIth a fork mash up the yolk into tiny tiny pieces. Add some mayo until it becomes a creamy consitencyy. then ii like to add some paprikam, garlic powder, imitation bacon bites, salt and pepper!! place the yolk mixtyures into the cooked egg whites and enjoy!
Boil your eggs and let them cool. Peel them and cut them in half. (long ways) scoop the egg yolks into a bowl and add mustard and mayo. The amount depends on how many eggs your making, just start out with 2 tablespoons of each mustard and mayo until you reach the desired consistancy. Stir well. (you may have to use a fork to help break up the yolks.)You want the mixture to be somewhat firm so it will stay in the egg and not be runny. mix it up and refill the center of the eggs with the mixture. You can sprinkle some paprika on top for decoration but you don't have to. Make sure you cover them and store them in the fridge until it's time to serve them.

What is the difference between being a vegetarian and a vegan?
-What are the specific differences? Also if you become one does that mean you cant eat ice cream and milkshakes since they are dairy products? lol I'm not sure I could give that up. Also what do you eat for protein besides tofu?Vegetarianism denotes a dietary practice which excludes consumption of animal flesh, which can be adopted for many reasons.
Veganism denotes an ethical philosophy opposing commodification of animals, and a corresponding lifestyle involving:
excluding the purchase and consumption of meat, dairy, eggs, honey, and foods containing them
not buying or wearing fur, leather, wool, silk, or clothing trimmed in them
not funding breeders and/or pet stores which breed animals for profit
not buying consumer products from companies whose distributors conduct animal toxicity tests
not frequenting zoos, circuses, rodeos, aquariums, or other venues where animals are held in captivity or forced to perform for profit
Dairy is (usually) vegetarian- it is not, however, vegan.
Vegans and vegetarians "can" eat whatever they so-choose-'
by definition they CHOOSE to not consume animal products, and animal flesh, respectively.
There are many brands and flavors of vegan ice cream, and vegan milkshake recipes.
I've personally never had tofu.
Protein is found in abundance in:
nuts
seeds
legumes
A potato contains the same amount of protein as lamb.
Tempeh? TEN TIMES the amount.Basically what every one else has already said.
Vegetarians may still eat eggs and dairy, but no meat of any kind (including no chicken and no fish). So they can have ice cream.
Vegan do not eat any animal by products (milk, dairy, honey, etc.) And some vegans go as far not to use products made with animals, or tested on animals, and do not support circuses, zoos, etc. Vegans can eat rice or soy ice creams.
There are so many other foods besides meat that have protein - basically there are beans, nuts, seeds, lentils, potatoes, oatmeal, quinoa, whole grains, spinach, veggie burgers and veggie dogs, algae, vegetables, fruits, grains, etc.
Vegetarian - Does not eat meat or flesh
Vegan - Does not eat meat, flesh or any by-products of animals.
Yes this includes ALL dairy, eggs etc.
Protein sources: vegetables, beans, legumes etc.
You can eat whatever you want, there are no vegan police watching you.
But if you do make the decision to become vegan its usually for strong moral reasons (sometimes health reasons) - so its really up to you what you do.
Personally, I can't justify eating dairy just because I have a craving while knowing that animals are being harmed to satisfy my weakness. But thats why I became vegan in the first place.
Its up to you.
Vegan- eat fruit and vegetables! No eggs, milk, chicken, red meat, fish!
Vegetarian- eats fruit vegetables and can eat anything except red meat. So they can eat fish, milk, eggs, and chicken!
It seems like you would be just a vegetarian.
Beans is a good source of protein. Also protein supplements work too!
Vegetarians do not eat animal flesh while vegans do not eat any animal product. For example a vegetarian might not eat beef, pork, poultry or fish but may still eat milk and eggs, while a vegan will remove all dairy products, animal byproducts (such as gelatin) or the like from their diet.
Vegans do not eat or use anything that comes from an animal. You can get protein from certian types of beans. No eggs, milk, leather. It's a pretty difficult life change to make. You can get dairy free ice cream, but personally I think it's gross lol! Vegetarians just don't eat meat.
A legitimate vegan is a person that only eats/uses food and products that could have been made the exact same way even if no other animals on earth existed.
Any other "class" doesn't carry a definite definition.

How long do i cook chicken legs in the oven for on a pan & what tempature ? thanks?
-You should cook them until they are done.Chicken legs in the oven cook for about 40 minutes on 400 degrees. If you are frying them in a pan, they also take about 40 minutes, 20 minutes on each side, medium heat...high enough to bubble, but low enouch that it doesn't splatter.
baking temps are best at 350 and one hour is best time to cook chicken

How can I make Tokyo Joes curry sauce?
-Send a letter to Tokyo Joes raving about their curry sauce. say that you would love to have the recipe and would so appreciate it if they could send it to you. Enclose a stamped self-addresed envelope in case they do.
Or you could....
Post your question to the "Dining Our" category under your Country, State and City. Maybe someone who is familiar with Tokyo Joes will see it and know the recipe. I've never heard of Tokyo Joes nor do I have any idea of where the it is located.

Which is the best way to eat pie?
-With a spoon or a fork?spoon duh how are u going to catch the pie with a fork or lol i did this once when i was 2 i got 1 pie shoved it in my face lol but it was deliciousIf the pie thickened up properly when baked, you should be able to eat it with a fork.
If the juices are thin, or if you are having ice cream or whipped cream on top, you can use a spoon.
Chopsticks are not recommended.
i would use a fork becaise a spoon wont be able to carve into the crust of the pie
Neither. Just dig in. Nothings holding you back.

If you were catering a wedding how many lbs of mashed potatoes would you need to feed people?
-My fiance and me have decided to make the food for our wedding to help save costs and I was wondering how many pounds of mashed potatoes would we need to make for a guest list of 200 people.I usually go by about 1/2-1 full potato per person. Take into account how big the potato is. You could probably reduce it touch since there will be other choices of food.
I agree w/ the poster ^above^ on the measurements for the pasta salad and salad...sometimes people have big salads, others don't. It will also depend on whether this is self-serve or not. If you are in control of serving sizes, you can easily gear the portion control, of course, if people want more you can't decline. But people will be less likely to pile it all on their plates if someone is doing it for them.Potatoes are the cheapest thing you can feed your guests. Get as much as possible. If I was your guest, I wouldn't attend, thats for sure. My suggestion is to cut down the number of guests and improve the quality of your food. At least you wont lose 200 friends and relatives after the event.
1 pound of potatoes equals 2 cups mashed
For salad/pasta salad, figure on 1/2 cup per person
I would use 1lb of potatoes per person. A group this size is tricky. Hope you have experience, the proper equipment and lots of help.
I think 2-3 lbs of potatoes per person would be about right.

What does alcohol effect first in your body?
-Why you drink alcohol, what is the first thing it effects? Judgement, Brain, ect?I think it affects the brain the most. The alcohol goes into your stomach, enters your bloodstream and heads to your brain. The toxins start impairing your coordination, speech and judgement
i think judgment.
not sure if the link below will help, but it may explain why some people drink and drive.
Judgment is in your brain stupid. Alcohol impairs your brain. That obvious enough? And it depends o what your drinking and on the person

-My boyfriend is from a pakistani background so I want to suprise him with a delicious curry recipe but all the ones ive tryed arent that good, any ideas????
Thanks! This recipe was given to me by my Indian grandmother.
2 1鈥?chunks fresh ginger, peeled, coarsley chopped
8 cloves garlic, peeled
2 cups water
10 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 pounds boned lamb shoulder, cubed or chicken thighs
10 whole cardamom pods
2 whole bay leaves
6 whole cloves
10 whole black peppercorns
1 stick cinnamon
2 medium onions, peeled, finely chopped
1 teaspoon coriander seed -- ground
2 teaspoons cumin seeds -- ground
4 teaspoons red paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, gounnd (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon salt, to taste
6 tablespoons plain yogurt
1/4 teaspoon garam masala (your favorite)
1 dash fresh ground pepper to taste
Put the ginger, garlic and 4 tablespoons of water into the container of an
electric blender. Blend well into a smooth paste.
Heat oil in a wide, heavy pot over a medium-high flame. Brown meat cubes in several batches and set aside in a bowl. Put the cardamom, bay leaves, cloves, peppercorns, and cinnamon into the same hot oil. Stir once and wait until cloves swell and the bay leaves begin to take on color. This just takes a few seconds. Now put in the onions. Stir and fry for 5 minutes or until the onions turn a medium-brown color. Put in ginger-garlic paste and stir for 30 seconds. Then add the coriander, cumin, paprika, cayenne, and the salt. Stir fry for another 30 seconds. Add the browned meat cubes and the meat juices. Now put in 1 tablespoon of the yogurt and stir and fry for about 30 seconds until yogurt is well blended. Add the remaining yogurt, a tablespoon at a time in the same way. Stir and fry for another 3-4 minutes.
Now add 1 1/4 cups water and bring the contents of the pot to a boil, scraping in all the browned spices on the sides and bottom of the pot. Cover, turn heat to low and simmer for about an hour or until meat is tender. Every 10 minutes give the pot a good stir to prevent burning. When the meat is tender, take off the lid, turn the fire to medium high and boil off some of the liquid, stirring all the time, until the sauce is thickened.

Wine substitute for cooking?
-I need half a cup of white wine for my chicken recipe and I have none. I have pineapple juice would that be alright to use instead? And is there anything else you can think off that I can use has a wine substituteI would just add chicken or vegetable broth Not knowing what the other ingredients are in the recipe, I don't if the pineapple juice would work.
Imagine your recipe finished and what it woud taste like with a slightly sweet pineapple flavoring. If it seems good to you, go ahead and use it. That is how new recipes are invented.
Pineapple juice would seriously change the flavors of the recipe. Also, the acids in the juice may have a reaction to the rest of the ingredients you don't want. If I were you, just substitute vegetable or chicken stock, and if you dont have that, water. But hey...you never know... the pineapple juice could do wonders for it too, if you're willing to risk the turnout of the whole dish!
Wine gives a flavour that not much else can give. You can try some vermouth (Martini) (about half the specified amount) as this is a fortified wine, but make sure you cook off the alcohol tho.
a little brandy, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar
NOT pineapple juice. Just use water.
Not pineapple juice! Go to the shops or just use a stock cube.
beer, lager, stout
i don.think so u can use that

How healthy is beef bone marrow, went to a buffet and they had it?
-I heard it's healthy but others say bad for you especially for cholesterolBone marrow is high in both protein and fat. It might not be rated as healthy food like vegetables or fruits and on the other hand not as bad as eating fattened meat. So yes it has cholesterol and you should go easy on it. It's all in your eating habits, so long us you regulate animal products then you should be fine.I love marrow!
Bone marrow is a rich source of polyunsaturated fatty acids; those essential fats everyone talks about. It also contains iron, phosphorus and vitamin A. Polyunsaturated fats are the healthy kind, not the kind that hurt your cholesterol.
Depending on how it's prepared, the marrow is supposed to be very healthy. In the body, that's where red blood cells are produced.
I think you should go elsewhere for your buffets.........

What can i do the day before, or the same day as i go out on the drink, to reduce the chances of puking/hangov?
-There is really no way to not get a hangover other than just not drinking alot, but as for pucking remember "beer before liquor makes you sicker, and liquor before beer && your in the clear"
And it'd actually true, if you do get too drunk try eating salty chips (such as lays) to sober you up a littleThere is really no way to not get a hangover other than just not drinking alot, but as for pucking remember "beer before liquor makes you sicker, and liquor before beer && your in the clear"
And it'd actually true, if you do get too drunk try eating salty chips (such as lays) to sober you up a littleHangovers are caused primarily by dehydration when drinking alcohol. The best way to prevent a hangover is to drink plenty of water when you are out drinking, you can avoid dehydration and more often than not hangovers.
Puking is a result of acute alcohol intoxication, and can only be avoided by NOT drinking to the point of vomiting! You don't need to keep drinking until you throw up. Just stop when you feel good and when you are at your limit.
don't mix drinks, don't get drunk, don't go to bed drunk--- keep it to a buzz... eat before and during drinking, drink water between alcoholic drinks.. i take 2 ibuprofen before going to bed if i sense a hangover is waiting for me the next morning, but probably not medically recommended, don't get drunk off wine, the cheaper the liquor/beer the more likely you are to get a hangover.
puking isn't such a bad thing if you do it the night you are drunk... it gives you a chance to rally!
Have a large meal beforehand with plenty of starch to absorb some of the alcohol. Mexican or Italian would both be good choices.
Try to limits your drinks to one per hour, drinking water in between.
After drinking, have a light meal with milk. A late night breakfast works well. And take a couple of pain relievers when you get home, before bed.
Next morning, take a couple more pain relievers if needed. Drink more water. And have some tomato or vegetable juice on hand because it will make you feel better.
Light-colored drinks (white wine, vodka, gin) have fewer congeners than dark ones (red wine, whiskey), so they won't give you as bad a hangover. As other people have said, eat a big meal before you go out and drink lots of water between drinks. In the morning, take Blowfish: http://forhangovers.com/ - it works awesome at relieving headache, fatigue and upset stomach.
drink a glass of water between drinks. Don't drink quickly. Make sure you are rested prior and DON'T DRIVE.
Drink water and lighter drinks like vodka. avoid the darker drinks
Drink Real Ale.
Drink less...

What should i have on my hot dog?
-i want something new to have on my hot dog instead of tomato sauce. Any ideas? I can't have onion or mustard. Thanks!Well here in the U.S. we like to top our dogs with a wide range of toppings. Here are a few regional favorites.
New York City: it will come served with a steamed red onion sauce and a pale, deli-style yellow mustard.
Chicago: dogs are layered with yellow mustard, bright green relish, chopped raw onion, tomato slices and topped with a dash of celery salt and and sport peppers, all served in a poppy seed bun.
Atlanta and the South: they're topped with coleslaw.
North Carolina: you can have coleslaw on top of your chili dog
Kansas City: served with sauerkraut and melted Swiss cheese on a sesame seed bun.
Cincinnati, Ohio: dogs are loaded with chili cheese and onions.
These are a few of my favorite things.A hot dog is a "Torpedo to your Heart. Add crushed antacids, crushed cholesterol pills,, and crushed blood pressure medicine. Seriously, don't eat that hot dog. Have a piece of fruit or a cup of non fat yogurt, or some sugar free Jello. or a can of tuna, or a saladwith no fat sugar free dressing. I know you are going to eat that hot dog. Just think about an alternative next time.
Chilly sauce and mayonnaise.
some pickles and even more mayonnaise.
sauerkraut, pepper, salt,creole.
i have mayo, and ketchup, with raw onions, and it is very good
Try coleslaw, cheese, and pickles?
What? No onion? No mustard? Then I think you should rethink your hot dog idea.
how about relish, or even chili and cheese
chili and cheese
try thousand island dressing. i've never tried it but right now that sounds good

Do you think lemon juice could help kill bread mold?
-or does that make no sense?OK calm down about it. Yeesh. How many times can you ask the same question? Just learn a lesson and look before you eat. If you haven't died yet you probably won't, at least for a while, anyway.yes, lemon juice could help kill bread moil. it make healthy body.it make help in cell of our body. lomon juice takeout fat of our body. it make fress mind sa wall.
It won't stop tasting moldy if it's dead. Lemon juice might kill that taste-I usually use cinnamon or peppermint gum. Or vodka, LOL.
Yes. It also makes your Sclong larger. Squirt some lemon juice on there and watch it grow!
yes it may changes to the bread in the liquid form like that juice.
Lol just buy some new bread n call it a day
are you that cheap to just buy new bread?

What is a really easy but impressive one pot dish to make, either in the oven or on the stove/hob....?
-I am cooking for friends who are all more experienced cooks than me and in previous weeks have made some really yummy dishes, lasange, sausage casserole and meatball and chorizo pasta...i have found when i cook i get flustered trying to look after a few things at once so can you give me any ideas for an impressive one pot dish??How can you go wrong with Beouf Bourguignon? It will impress and it doesn't have to be fussy. Just do it in a more provincial style, like most French people do in their homes. Basically, everything into a pot and simmer, simmer, simmer. Very easy. And delicious!
Beouf Bourguignon
1 陆 lb. Beef Stew Meat, cut into 陆鈥?pieces
3-4 T. bacon grease or vegetable oil
1 med-large Onion, course chopped
2 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 T. tomato paste
3 cups good, dry red wine (Beaujolais or a Burgundy)
陆 t. thyme
陆 t. herbes d鈥橮rovence (Italian seasoning)
1/3 c. parsley
1 Bay leaf
陆 lb. button mushrooms, sauted in butter separately; or 2 jars of mushrooms, drained
Salt & pepper to taste
Season meat and coat in flour. Saute in a Dutch oven in fat/oil a few at a time until browned. Set aside. Saute vegetables (except mushrooms) in fat until they sweat. Return meat to vegetables. Add wine and seasonings. Cover and simmer about 2 hours. Add mushrooms, check salt and pepper, and simmer one more hour with the lid ajar. Sauce should thicken slightly, but you can add a small slurry of flour in water to thicken it further if necessary toward the end.
Serve over cooked, buttered egg noodles.
About 6 servings.
Add a salad, some crusty French bread, and a bottle of the same wine that's in the dish. Voila!
This is a family recipe of mine but its dessert.
-You need 2 boxes of pistachio pudding (the mix)
-2 containers of whipcream
-pineapples (your choice of fruit)
And all you gotta do is mix that together until everything is a light green color and make sure the pistachio mix isn't clumpy then whan that's all done you have ambrosia
It won't look to appetizing but its really good :) I hope this helped budd
My favorite one dish meal is tamale pie. A family member of mine is not a best cook but when she makes this, we all really enjoy it. This is not her exact recipe, she adds crumbled tamales in hers and cooked egg noodles instead of the cornbread and chips. Good luck!

Apple juice to wine!?!?
-I tried makin wine wit strawberries but no juice i guess i did it wrong and now i have a apple juice so do i do the same thing for making wine except with applejuice?buy some cider (or champagne) yeast, pitch it into the juice container and cover the opening with aluminum foil (unless you have a bug problem in your place of residence). put it in a closet or somewhere dark and of a decent temperature. wait a month or two and you'll have hard cider.
First, check to insure that there are no preservatives in the juice. Then, get a recipe to learn what yeast to use and how much sugar to add. Follow the recipe and don't forget to sanitize everything that will touch the juice.

How Can I Prepare Those Dolce-Gusto Coffee Thingies/Capsules without Those Devices?
-I know nothing of coffee. I just bought some weird stuff from a hypermarket and it seemingly can't be made like normal boiled or instant coffee...
I do not drink enough fancy coffee for those devices to be worth the money. I just don't. I'm a tea drinker. They cost much more than the price of all the damn coffee my family would drink in one year. My parents have no clue what Latte Macchiato is, seriously.
So, please, tell me, should I just throw the damn capsules or is there some way to prepare it by simply or more complicatedly boiling it?buy a cheap coffee maker

What is a side dish I can serve with stuffed peppers?
-Or is this something that is better served alone? It may depend on what's in the peppers. But I think a cous cous salad would be nice - cook cous cous as usual with a little salt to taste, chop up fresh tomato and avocado and mix with cous cous. Yummy and quick and simple. You don't really need one if your making the peppers with meat and rice. It is a complete meal, but my Mom always served mashed potatoes. If your looking to save calories or make them healthier, just mash them up with some chicken broth and margarine. My Mom used Chicken Fat, which I loved but would not recommend. You could serve a salad instead of the potatoes. Don't forget to serve some crusty rolls or bread to sop up the sauce.
You have your starch, meat and veggie all in one! Maybe you could have another vegetable? I would probably serve some garlic bread or rolls with it too. Of course - a salad is always a nice option too! Thanks for reminding me of stuffed peppers....I think I'll be making them soon!
every time i have eaten stuffed peppers they've been eaten alone.
A rice dish
Potato skins with cheese and bacon would go nicely
Green salad.
Some kind of potatoe.Mashed,fried

How do you make Meat Patties?
-Is it just putting the mince and an egg into a big bowl, mixing it together and then making them into pattie shapes or have I got it all wrong? Also do you put the entire egg in, or leave the yolk out?
Cheersmince egg yoke and abit of onionI'm guessing you're talking hamburgers or meatloaf? I put my meat in a baking dish with depth to it, crack an egg, scramble with a fork and pour over meat, one packet of dry ranch dressing dip mix poured over meat, Worcestershire sauce, or liquid steak marinade. Then carefully massage into the meat, you don't want to handle the meat too much.
(Make a ball of meat with your hands, then flatten it out. Remember it will shrink so make them bigger than you want your burgers)
I'd fuhgedabout the egg

Which recipe looks healthier?
-Which should I make, bearing in mind that the one lowest in calories is best? (for my dad - parents' wedding anniversary)
Lemon cake looks better 'cos of olive oil but not sure!
Lemon cake, serves 6 - 8:
300g caster sugar
3 eggs
300g plain white flour sifted with 1tbsp baking powder
Grated zest and juice of 1 orange
Grated zest of 1 unwaxed lemon
120ml extra-virgin olive oil
100ml milk
OR
Peach and almond muffins, makes 6:
3 large eggs
100g golden caster sugar , plus a little extra for sprinkling
few drops of almond extract
25g butter, melted
100g self-raising flour
25g ground almonds
2 small peaches
2 tsp apricot jamThe lemon cake, if it serves 6: 581.9 calories, 22.4 grams fat per slice.
If it serves 8: 436.4 calories, 16.8 grams fat per slice
The muffins: 230.5 calories, 8.5 grams fat per muffin
To make either/both healthier, try replacing one of the eggs with unsweetened applesauce or just using the egg whites; unsweetened applesauce can also replace 1/2 the butter; the sugar can usually be reduced by at least 1/4 cup without a noticeable difference; and use a lower-fat milk. Also, of course, consider smaller portions -either slicing the cake smaller or putting less batter into each muffin tin.Use powdered or skim milk instead of whole milk and your lemon cake will have many less calories. Also, you can really cut smaller serving pieces than 6-8. The second recipe of peach and almond muffins includes butter, fruit and apricot jam. This really adds unnecessary fats and more sugars. Olive oil is a healthy fat. Happy anniversary to your parents. They obviously raised a conscious child.
I would go with the lemon cake. When guests come, do they really want some healthy meal? And what if some people are allergic to nuts? Maybe you should put out both.
I would go with the second one, just due to the fact that refined sugar is one of the worst things for you.
I would say the Peach and almond muffins sound healthier but the lemon cake sounds tastier- Sugar content

What cocktails can be ordered virgin?
-I'm under 21, and I was just wondering what cocktails can be ordered virgin in a typical restaurant (i.e. a chain restaurant). In very technical terms a "cocktail" is an alcoholic beverage. If you ask for it virgin you're getting something that hopefully tastes similar, but is no longer a cocktail.
There are a few common versions, and you can probably replicate a lot of cocktails with non-alc versions but you're just getting some combination of soda and juice that looks the same. It's likely not going to taste anything like the original, so you might as well order what you like.
Any can. You just ask for a virgin variety. Though the drinks which are nearly 100% liquor like a Rum Barrel or a Rum Runner, ordering it virgin would get you a pineapple juice and a squeeze of lime, lol.
Coke w/ lime - Virgin Cuba Libre
Some popular ones include Strawberry Daiquiri, Pina Colada, Shirley Temple, etc. Here are some other ideas and recipes:
http://www.recipe.com/recipes/drinks/non鈥?/a>
I do banquet bartending.
Any can.
You could order a virgin Jack and Coke. And you would just get Coke.
Those with non-alcoholic drinks like Coke, Sprite; and using non-alcoholic mixers.
A virgin rum and coke is called a coke.

What is the best cure for a hangover?
-Well, i finished a whole handle of uv blue last night with some friends, not the best idea, and threw up the whole night.. I still feel sick and have a headache. Ive been sipping water, but im getting hungry now too and im afraid to eat because i feel like ill just throw it up. What can i eat/drink to feel better ..? :(There are so many old wives' tales about cures for hangovers.
Ignore all this quakery.
On the very few occasions I have felt a little groggy the day after, I always find that getting another drink down my throat works best. The first one is a little difficult to face but after the second one you should be feeling better. And there actually IS a scientific reason for this one working; it's to do with the re-balancing of the effect of the booze. Sorry I can't recall it in detail but it was expounded on by some prof on BBC radio four over Christmas so it MUST be true.
I have been something of a boozer most of my life (hee hee!) and have seldom suffered hangovers unless I have been deprived of sleep but then again that's one part of the whole thing.
Drink lots of water. Avoid coffee, tea and sodas that will dehydrate you further.
Take aspirin that is free of caffeine or acetaminophen.
Eat some eggs. They contain cysteine which breaks down the hangover-causing toxins.
Drink some lemon water as they do help with the breath problems.
The best cure for hangover is abstinence but what the hell! Have fun buddy!
drinking whater before you go to sleep helps ALOT, there are also some pills here in sweden that helps that you take before you sleep. But the day after i dont know take it easy drink whater and maybe try to eat som toast or something. Never really get hungover, im one of the blessed ones that dont have to suffer that ^^
GATORADE! it works every time. im serious, drink the whole bottle of gatorade and you'll be better in an hour or so. at first it makes me kind of queezy, but it will definitely help the nausea soon. the best flavor is the blue one, imo.

You will have to force yourself to eat or you not recover anytime soon.
I suggest eating super noodles they should stay down easily.
Water. Plenty of it. Hangovers are only because of dehydration. It's best to avoid drinking so much in the first place.
Try Blowfish - it's a new cure that works awesome for curing headaches, upset stomach and fatigue. You can get it here: www.forhangovers.com
Your parents will have ideas, being so proud of their drunk underage daughter.
Talk to them. If not, see a doctor. This isn't "omg I totally screwed up section".
sleep fast food with big drink sex and shower then more sleep
Drink a beer works everytime.
water, bananas,an egg on whole wheat toast, and an asprin..hope this helps
sweat the alcohol out of your system
Don't stop drinking.

Have anyone tasted whale meat?
-When I was in Japan in the mid 1960's, I tasted a marinated whale meat and it was delicious like it melted in my mouth.
But since it's been so long, I forgot what it tasted like.
What does it taste like. Don't say chicken as it did not taste like chicken at all.
From what I can recall, it was like the richest of the richest cut of beef.As a chef I worked in Japan and the far north of Canada, I have had 2 types, served raw/salted and in a stewed dish, it is like fatty beef, shoulder with alot of connective tissue, it is not fishy tasting and has no flavour like chicken.I haven't eaten it cause I think it's illegal, but it would be a fatty meaty like a version of a tuna maybe that is thicker in texture?
In my childhood, we usually use whale meat to catch crayfish. I ate whale meat twice or so, but it has veiny flesh. it wasn't yummy at all to me.
no, i haven't tasted it but by reading your answer my mouth is also melted and its nice that you tasted whale meat.
It kind of tastes like a possum that was killed and left in the sun for a week.
noooo
Would you like a glass of water
I LOVE ITTTT

I want to make Butter Chicken - but not from a packet or jar. What's the best Butter Chicken recipe?
-as usual with good recipes, Butter Chicken has many variations..... "the best one" comes down to personal taste... ;)))
for me it's this one...., but the followings taste good too :))
Butter Chicken (indian dish):
1/4 pint/150ml natural yogurt
2 ounces/50g ground almonds
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp crushed bay leaves
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp garam masala
4 green cardamom pods
1 tsp ginger pulp
1 tsp garlic pulp
14 ounce/400g can tomatoes
1 1/4 tsp salt
2 pounds/1kg chicken, skinned, boned and cubed
3 ounces/75g butter
1 tbsp corn oil
2 medium onions, sliced
2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
4 tbsp cream
-- Place the yogurt, ground almonds, all the dry spices, ginger, garlic, tomatoes and salt in a mixing bowl and blend together thoroughly.

鈥or an authentic and traditional cooked-over-the-coals flavour: When the Butter Chicken is cooked, make a small bowl shape with aluminum foil and place it on top of the curry ('floating' on it). Remove the cover just before serving, discard the foil bowl and charcoal and serve. The curry will be infused with a smokey flavor!
