How to become a Butcher?

-I was looking into becoming a butcher and from what I understand it's actually a college degree / certificate. I haven't found to much information on it but I want to know if there is a State accredited school that offers classes.are you talking butcher or meat cutter ? butcher is like culinary school you have to attend and than will be employed at restaraunts where as a meat cutter you can apply at any super market and ask to become an apprentice for a year and than as you learn you will be promoted to a journeyman cutter.

you should be able to find culinary schools on line to attend, but if looking for meat cutter than go to chain stores, better pay and benefits.
